Default Consumer Output

Postby String_Theorist » 10 Mar 2017, 19:03

Hi all,

So by default, CasparCG pushes black frames to the consumer of the specified resolution and refresh rate. Is there a way to change this, that is, to replace the black frame with another frame (either a different color, or perhaps, adding a logo to the frame?).

Thanks for your help!

...so that it shows this after startup, without sending a command? No, that is not possible out of the box. You could write a batch script or the like that sends a command to display a logo etc. after startup.

Yes, exactly.

Alright then. I'm testing out the linux server, so I'll write a bash script, and call it from run.sh and see how it goes.

Thanks!

Cool, I was surprised at how simple it would be to do this.

Here's the line of code that I run parallel to the run.sh script, which starts the server:

Code: Select all
{ echo "PLAY 2-11 "LOGO""; echo "MIXER 2-11 OPACITY 0.15 1 Linear"; sleep 1; } | telnet localhost 5250

I used
Code: Select all
sleep 5
before so that it allows the server some time to get ready to receive commands, since both scripts execute at the same time.
