Just finished using CasparCG on a little show for German television called "Ich bin ein Star, holt mich hier raus!" for RTL. We were all really happy with how it turned out - the system didn't miss a beat the whole 3 weeks.

A huge thanks to all forum and wiki contributors whose invaluable advice and recommendations helped make this show a success! I can't wait to keep travelling on my Caspar-powered journey.

Here are some shots from in the control room.

as the project grows and casparcg grows
the amount of used caspar channels has grown too to 7channels (all operated by one person)
and we already know we will raise the amount off channels next year!

2x 1080i25 CUT/FIll pairs for general playout and titles
1x 1080P50 for the on court banner system
1x 720p50 channel for the corners of the screen cube
1x 1080i channel for a L-gfx
1x 1080i channel for stats channel
1x 1080i channel for projection on the field.

all templates are now converted to HTML. next to that we could skip a lot off
external sources due too the very nice development in HTML support
making our workflow much much better / cleaner !!

most templates were automaticly updated with external data from different sources

first time we used Dimitry Ishenko's countdown timers (very usefull !)

thank you community for building such a nice tool !!

by the way all servers running on 2.1 :)

Amazing!

BTW, I watched the tournament and noticed the new on-screen graphics for ATP, do you happen to know if that is CasparCG also?

We are currently developing some smaller Projects with CasparCG for a Live-Scoring System (Freeski, BMX,...). All of the Data who is shown in the templates are provided via REST API. The HTML Templates are created through Adobe Edge Animate CC.

For another upcoming event we will experementing with Fitbit/Smartphones to provide Live-Pulse Data, GPS Positions and Altimeter-Data to our overlays.

If anybody is interested feel free to contact me for more information.

same job as last year (scroll back a year ago in this thread)

again a canvas of 13440x1080 pixels and a projection screen of 50x4 mtr

but with some significant changes "under the hood".

This year we used 1 custom made channel with a native res of 13440x1080 but without consumers
followed by 7channels with one routed layer from ch1 feeding 2 decklink quads.
all this in one server.

last year we sync started 7 channels with seperate rendered clips.
this year clips were made in native resolution off ch1 in prores LT and mp4.

making use off one big "virtual channel" gives quite some advantages !!!
love it how this software grows !

a second server was used to provide the spyder system with several "cut" signals
to key in the OB feeds.

We used Caspar for the RocketAir 2017 in Switzerland (https://youtu.be/kZaBcXPYMCs?t=7m52s)

CasparCG Server was two Z420 Workstations with Decklink 4k Pro Cards connected to our Judging-Server where the Results came from. The entire Setup was fully reduntant (two indipandent fiber optic cables to our Servers, each with Key&Fill)
We had a custom made Client (third Picture) to controll the templates based on a webinterface.

@TheYouth
No not a screenconsumer. one very big channel with no consumers at all !
this plays the clips only in memory
i rerouted this channel with the "route" command to 7 other normal HD channels
TheYouth wrote:So you just used one screenconsumer or how does it work?
I really love seeing that one of biggest AV suppliers is using CasparCG. :-)

Ok got it :-)
And on the other HD channels you used transformation to get the correct tile?

Tried it by myself in this moment, used one 4K clip, played it in memory and routed it to four other channels. But then I had to use transformation to get the correct tile on the output? Is that the correct way?

I did an event as a volunteer this august, for which I built a custom controller based on node, websockets and vuejs. This allowed me to control the entire system from a simple Android tablet.

Most of the templates were pulled from last year's broadcast and based on Quicktime animations and HTML for dynamic texts. (last year's controller wasn't half as nice though)
Some templates specifically made for this year were built using SVG's from Adobe Illustrator that were animated with Anime JS. A combination that I'm currently very content with.

For the football tournaments "West Zone Challenge Cup" and "WAFU Cup Of Nations" I assembled 2 full-blow CasparCG engine systems. (FILL/KEY + STILL + PREVIEW)
This was a contract for FOX Sports and broadcasted live on FOX Sports Africa.
The graphics where custom build following the FOX Sports style
  • Title Animations from After Effects to PNG Sequences (because of complicated animations)
  • Dynamic text and dynamic animations combined in Adobe Animate Flash templates
  • Extreme flexibility with graphics and lower thirds
  • The control interface runs in every browser within the LAN network because it's web-based (local webserver on the CasparCG Engine)
  • Excel import for league and team setup
Fullscreen webinterface with all the key functions within reach
Image
Quick action player titles (used in multiple templates)
Image
Oneliner tab menu
Image
Penalty tab (auto score increase)
Image
Stats tab (Excel/XML/Google Docs synchronized)

Formation setup (used in multiple templates automatically)

Again a succesfull edition off the ATP500 ABN-AMRO-WTT tournament.

Like a said a year ago we would increase the amount off channels in use this year.
but i never thought i would go from 7 to 16 channels !!!

just a list for centre court
2 Cut & Fill channels for general GFX/PLAYOUT
1 channel with a build from julusian for webcontent and a interactive game with a app
1 channel for the corner's off the screencube in the center off the arena
1 channel for the bannersystem on the second ring
2 channels for the bannersystem around court (did not fit in one channel)
1 channel for the screen behind the players during players introduction
1 channel for the videostrips in the corridor during players introduction
1 channel for a flying DJbooth coming down from the roof during players introduction on the grand final
1 channel with the scoreboard

all 10 channels acting as a large gangroll during players introduction some with cut&fill FX's
still all operated with the default client by one person !! WOW

external data from ATP and HAWKEYE was used for showing the score and speed of serve during the game on the main screen
and court banners

another 6channels were in use for set and forget channels like a Lgraphic/ticker / scoreboards for the screens on other courts
and a stats channel.

Hi guys

Again RocketAir 2018 in Thun, Switzerland.

We did the whole production with the new 2.2.0 Beta Version and all worked great. We used two systems with Decklink 4K Pro Cards. One system controlled by the default CasparCG Client for "static" templates and the other system controlled by a custom nodejs/websockets client, that retrieves all data from the scoring system.

All the templates were done in HTML. Lately we do everything in Google Web Designer and it works very well. In my opinion a lot better then Edge Animate. I wrote a short library to control Google Web Designer Templates. I'm planning to share that, so you guys can experiment as well with GWD.

Here some screenshots from the YouTube Stream. The production was for Swiss Television (Teleclub Zoom), Facebook and YouTube.

For the last couple of months we have been trying out a new concept for two of our 5 daily news shows at TV2 ØSTJYLLAND.
The shows are produced and presented by just one person – thanks to the magic of CasparCG and a custom client.

The setup is a single server running our client "presenThor" and CasparCG. The server has a Decklink Quad 2 installed.

Channel 1 is PGM out
Channel 2 is output for the studio monitor
Channel 3 is used for timing – send to the prompter
Channel 4 is camera input (embedded audio from the micro port).

presenThor is a webapp and it's operated live by the anchor. It's also used for creating the playlist for the shows.

presenThor grabs the latest/most important stories from our website. And downloads an image to CCG if a story is added to the playlist. If the anchor wants video or another image for the story it can be uploaded to CCG with presenThor or send from our production system.

I've uploaded an example of a show on Linkedin https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/ur ... 519099392/
You can read more about the project here (in Danish): https://medium.com/digital-erfaringsudv ... f127d19c25

We have been struggling with some issues but for the last couple of weeks we have beeen running without hickups related to the setup.
There has been stuttering video, missing audio and distortion, randomly :-( The theory is that the issues were related to TeamViewer. We used to operate the server with TeamViewer but since we stopped using TV these issues are gone.
We don't have lipsync. But with an audio delay on "PGM out" all is joy.
