Fullscreen graphics with looping background

Postby nibo » 06 Apr 2017, 13:18

Dear All

I am absolutely sure that I am not the first that has been challenged by this issue, but I cannot find a topic, which covers it.
I would like to build a fullscreen Flash template, that has multiple fields on top of a looping animated background. I have so far embedded PNG sequences into my template, but the issue is that the files become way too big (300+ MB) thus they do not run immediately and not always smooth either.

This raises two questions:
1. can I embed clip/image sequences into my flash files in a more efficient way, in order to reduce the file size?
OR
2. can I call a looping video file into the clip producer when I load the flash template?

Best regards
Niels

There is an ActionScript Object, that can be used for this. You find it here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13685023/CustomSocket.as

You use it like this:
Somewhere on top of your .as file:
Code: Select all
      private var mysocket:CustomSocket = new CustomSocket("localhost", 5250);

To play:
Code: Select all
      override public function Play():void
      {
         mysocket.writeln("PLAY " + channel + "-" + videoLayer + " Tactic_Intro");
         mysocket.flush();
      }

To stop:
Code: Select all
      override public function Stop():void
      {
         mysocket.writeln("STOP " + channel + "-" + videoLayer);
         mysocket.flush();
         removeTemplate();
      }

I don't think using PNG sequence in flash and using it as fullscreen backround animation (maybe like a video ??) is the efficient way :)

The best way is, convert your PNG sequence into MP4 video format, you can asking this from your video editor, and then playing that video using flash template.

In flash, you can using "NetStream" method to load fast and playing your MP4 video, check out this :

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ActionScrip ... -7d4e.html

To making more "efficient" you can using StageVideo with your GPU hardware acceleration to playing MP4 video , checkout this :

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/dev/WSe ... -8000.html

finnaly, I'll suggesting you to using Flash Player version 11.9 that fully support with GPU hardware acceleration, after searching the best flash player in Adobe Flash forum, I've got this version become the best for it. You can download flash player v11.9 from this :
