[Sticky] Automated Builds from SVN

Postby Macey » 25 Sep 2012, 16:45

Hi All,

As some members of the IRC channel know, I have set-up an automated build server for the CasparCG SVN trunk (2.0).

The builds are performed everytime new code is pushed to the SVN repository.

The Resulting Zip files containing a release build of CasparCG is from now on available at http://builds.casparcg.com/

Notifications are available in the IRC channel (#casparcg on freenode) when these new builds are complete. For more info !help is your friend.

Regards
Andy

This is a great way for the community to beta test the next version to be released (2.0.3.)

I'm guessing http://builds.casparcg.com/ will be filled with a build list during the night, it's empty right now.

For those that wonder, the IRC channel Andy mentioned is found at http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=CasparCG

Hey Jonas,

Zebiolo changed the DNS earlier, so make take a bit of time.
At current there are 2 builds,

svn-3320
svn-3364

As mentioned, whenever a developer checks any code into the casparcg server trunk. Builds will be available.

I have made some changes to the DNS settings. It's working now.

Andy,
Thanks for setting this up. Could you please configure your build server to include a bit more information in the directory name and resulting filename? May I suggest something along the lines of:

CasparCG_Server_2.0
    CasparCG_Server_2.0.3_build_3320
      CasparCG_Server_2.0.3_build_3320.zip
    CasparCG_Server_2.0.3_build_3324
      CasparCG_Server_2.0.3_build_3324.zip
CasparCG_Server_2.1
    CasparCG_Server_2.1.0_build_0030
      CasparCG_Server_2.1.0_build_0030.zip

Consider it done as discussed!

Under http://builds.casparcg.com/
We are now building 2.0 from the trunk and 2.1 from the branches.

Great, now we just need to make it obviously clear that these builds are alpha versions that have not yet been tested, and make sure that we update the CHANGES and README files.

The link isn't working for me. DNS issue maybe?

We just DNS-point to Andy's server, who kindly offered this service for free. Have a coffee and see if it comes back up in a while!

I know the server build is current, but I don't see the client build. Is there any way we can add the client to the automated build as well?
