Scene Producer - First impressions / questions

#1
Yesterday I played around with the new scene producer for a whiile. Thes wowed me very much and I think, that this will be the way to go in the future! Some little things, that I noticed are missing (or I did not found them) are:
  • An easy way to set the color of a layer dynamicaly. There are functions to modify hue saturation and brightness, so it could be done somehow, but nice would be a way to set the color from a hex argb-value.
  • A dynamic image producer, or at least a way to send an image from the client, without putting it into the media folder. Can I host a Flash layer for this?
  • A blur filter to cast a soft shadow or similar stuff.
If I would find answers to this questions (and others, that sure will arise) I would leave Flash behind and skip HTML in favor for the Scene-Producer. :)

Jesper Stærkær wrote:You can use the color producer. It has a list of predefined colors and take raw values as well. From the top of my head, i think the format might be #AARRGGBB, but don't trust me on this, I'm FAR from sure.
Yes, that's correct. But that is not a value you can set dynamically. At least it did not work when I tried and in the documentation here https://github.com/CasparCG/Server/blob ... /scene.xsd it says, that it's not a expression but a constant value...

can somebody point me how scene producer works, and where to get it? I could not find in search more info on it.
First download an install the latest build of the beta 2 of CasparCG 2.1 http://casparcg.com/download.html

Then there is a subfolder in template called scene, where you find some examples to test and play around.

The definition of the things you can do in the XML for the scene producer you find here: https://github.com/CasparCG/Server/blob ... /scene.xsd

Hope this helps.

Hi guys,

I played around with the scene producer as well, and I have to say I like it a lot. Especially since Flash and I are not good friends...

Didi mentioned early in the thread that the image / producer cannot be changed dynamically. I was trying this as well, and I could not get it to work through a XML variable.
Does anyone have an idea how this could be achieved?

Thanks,
Phil

Hi, did you please found a walkaround with color scene producer? I have not found HUE setting in xsd.
I was hoping that something like <producer>${teamColor1}</producer> should work
