Virtual Inputs

Postby jackreynolds » 05 Jan 2017, 15:38

So while playing around with the SplitCam system, I noticed that it uses a kind of "virtual" input to send the video from SplitCam to CasparCG. We need to send a feed to an application from a Decklink card, however the application does not actually have built in Decklink support. One of the methods described here would, however, work: https://artoolkit.org/documentation/dok ... eo_capture (scroll down a little). Is there a way to configure a "virtual" kind of output from Caspar into one of these systems? Thanks

So, possibly, for instance, ADD 1 WINDOWS_DSVIDEOLIB
Something like that possibly?

that will not work with CasparCG.

does your application support input of network streams? if yes, you can add a stream consumer to CasparCG and play that back in your application

I'm not sure which of these could possibly be net inputs, do any of them look familiar to you as having that capability? Some of them (Quicktime and GStreamer look like they might have net possibilities?) Thanks. Imageimage hosting free no registration

I am not familiar with any of those. Google is your friend.

So looking here, DirectShow is capable of DLNA local network streaming. Would you think that DLNA would be something usable?

NewTek NDI is the future. It works with CasparCG, Tricasters, vMix and many more already.

Yes, we've worked with NDI extensively. Unfortunately our application does not support NDI.
