I have been running CasparCG on BF444 EPOCH 2k Core, EPOCH 4k Neutron, and EPOCH 4K Supernova for 3-4 months now. I have had absolutely no problems with any of them. I have also set up Caspar servers running multiple BF444 cards simultaneously and, again, zero problems.

Takes a bit of fiddling around with the CONFIG file to get multiple cards set up correctly, then you've got to configure your multiple channels (software-wise) to jive with the multiple hardware channels. But it all works, no question.

I don't use the CasparCG Playout Client, I write my own clients using Caspar's .NET dll. That also works very smoothly with both single- and multiple- channel CasparCG servers, very well engineered.

Hi guys,
We bought 1 year ago one Bluefish444 Epoch|4K Supernova. (http://bluefish444.com/products/professional-cards/features/epoch-4k-supernova-range/4/epoch-4k-supernova.html)
I thought that i will able to do a 4 independent outputs. But i have still some problems with it. I am able to use just 1 channel (fill + key). Also in CasparCG log is this channel marked as "unknown".
You can see it here:

I do not know if the problem is somewhere in my bluefish configuration or it is just about incompatibility..... Maybe the guys from development are able to solve my dilemma.. :)

PS: currently i am using windows 10, just for testing. With Win7 it was the same.

Did you re-flash your Supernova with the correct BF444 firmware to configure the BF444 hardware for what you're trying to do? There are a bunch of different firmware varieties, depending on whether you're trying to config the card as:

A. 1 in / 2 out
B. 4 out
C. 2 in / 2 out
D.1 in / 4 out
E. 4 in

I have never tried exactly what you are trying to accomplish here (B - 4 separate channels out), but I have re-flashed a Supernova to configure the hardware as, essentially, two separate broadcast cards (D - 1 blackburst in for sync, 2 keys and 2 fills out addressable independently). It took some fiddling, but ultimately it works like a champ.

In the most recent BF444 Supernova firmware selection I've got (BF5.11.0.35) I see a version of the SuperNova firmware called:

BlueFirmwareUpdate_SupernovaAndSPlus_QuadOut_082

If you haven't experimented with the different firmware versions, that's a crucial step you're missing. I would suggest to you that re-flashing will get the BF444 hardware to match what you're trying to do.

Once you've got your BF444 hardware configured correctly (using firmware re-flash and BlueProps), I can't answer whether or not the CASPAR software will support it. But if you get it working, please keep us posted, as that would be interesting to know.

I tried few versions of Bluefish driver, re-flash it few times to all possible modes but it was still the same. Without good results. I am able to see in CasparCG just one channel marked as "unknown".
Maybe the card is broken.... i do not know.
SkunkyBeer, is here some possibility for you to set your Bluefish card to 4 independent channels mode? Make the test?

Hello Vojsooo,

Sorry to only get back to you about this now, but we are new to the forum here at CasparCG.

Can you please let us know if you are still having issues with using the Supernova card with CasparCG?
If you are let us know the driver version you are using and which version of CasparCG too.

Bluefish444 have been working on some updates with the folks at CasparCG so if you are interested in these keep an eye out later in the new year. Until then we can try to help you with your set up right now.

Also please feel free to contact support@bluefish444.com if you ever have any issues at all, here you can access direct communication with our engineers and support staff.

Regards,
