Postby philip888 » 18 Jan 2017, 08:09

But I cannot load them out in the CasparCG Client.

Do you have any logfiles ?

Maybe a upper/lower-case issue in filenames ?

What I have done is copy the files from the Windows version template (c:\casparcg\template\timers folder) into Linux /casparcg/template/timers directory
and then I use sudo chmod -R 777 timers

then I startup the Cascparcg client 2.0.8 program (currently, client and server are the same machine)

In the client, at the menu, choose "Library" -> "Refresh Library" to try to refresh, but nothing come out at the Templates ..... (it still shows "Templates (0)")

this is the client side log :

If you want to running Flash Template (.ft) in CCG linux version,

try to install Flash Player for Linux first, checkout the linux version from this :

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

I don't know if this can solving your problem :)

But, according to the recommendation :

http://casparcg.com/wiki/CasparCG_Serve ... quirements

I prefer keep using CCG in Windows 7 (64bit) environment, just like the CasparCG team recomended :)

On almost similiar topic, we always founding question like "Why CCG error in Windows 8 or 10 ??"

Well guys, the answer is very simple, CasparCG was didn't recomended to running in Windows 8 or 10 :)
please check it out on "System Requirements" statement.

Cheers,
Sonny

I second this. I myself also run it on Win 7 64 bit. But from customer feedback I know, that it runs quite well on Windows 10. But keep away from crap-Windows-8, please.

Well, linux has a lot of restrictions on access to the security functions,

after installing flash player on your linux,
try to setup "default browser" to the proper internet browser,
for example like in this :

http://askubuntu.com/questions/79305/ho ... lt-browser

if you have the flash source project file (.fla),
maybe you can adding this lines AS3 at the first line on your flash action script :

Code: Select all
import flash.system.*;

Security.allowDomain("*");
Security.allowInsecureDomain("*");

try to look inside your AS3 code, the real fullpath in windows OS like this

Code: Select all
C:\\CasparCG Server\templates\yourtemplate.ft

in Linux the "\" character is becoming "/"

Code: Select all
./casparcg server/yourtemplate.ft

The most important is in Linux filename and folder name is case sensitive
in Linux, for example :

Code: Select all
GoodImage.jpg

is different than

Code: Select all
goodimage.jpg

And then try to rebuild it using "Flash Template Generator" for CasparCG.

Otherwise, try to CHMOD on the file and folder of your flash template files,
you can finding in Google.com how to do it :)

Sonny

I thought flash templates were not supported in Linux.

+ Flash, Bluefish and NewTek modules are not ported to the Linux build.

Hi,

If I want to create some templates for Linux Server, what kind of templates can be used? (eg:HTML5?)
Or, I need to create by my own? If so, which kind of software can help?

(New to CasparCG)

Thanks.
