Re: HTML Producer latency question

Internally there are a few points of buffering to ensure that playout is smooth even when there is unexpected system load. From what I can see: Each producer typically buffers 2 or 3 frames. Route adds 1 frame of latency. Consumers also have their own buffers. Decklink is 3/4 (this is a hardware req...

Re: CasparCG server on Linux: Discussion about the official builds

Having re-read this plan, I am wondering about the support cut off date for each release. With this plan there will be a 4 month period where only one version is supported. I feel it would be better to extend that cut off date a bit to give an overlap, so that there is a couple of months for users t...

Re: Automated build system

I was about to post a response on the github issue, but it would make sense to do it here instead. I haven't really used jenkins myself, I use gitlab-ci for most of my things (including my own caspar builds) and travis if the project is on github. So I have plenty of experience using tools like thes...

Re: Development Status

Regarding development status: Why are there no more builds appearing on http://builds.casparcg.com ? The latest Windows build for 2.1.0 dates back from april 24th and the 2.2.0 branch that seems to exist on Github has no builds at all. I have some builds of the 2.1.0 branch available here: https://...

Re: AMCP Command Queue Overflow

That error gets thrown when the command queue has 128 commands waiting to be processed, so it looks as though its down to caspar taking too long per command to update the template. It would be better to use a html or flash template and to access it via another method, possibly the template connectin...

Re: HTML Template redirecting to remote server - is there a better way?

If you are happy to run a dev build of 2.1, this PR might be what you are after. https://github.com/CasparCG/Server/pull/644 It allows for treating http://localhost/event/views/View.php as your template file in the client, meaning it would get all of the play, update, stop functions be called at the...

Re: HTML producer and background image

Could you enable the screen producer and take a screenshot of that? I believe that in html background images repeat by default, so it sounds like it could be that the page is too tall for caspar causing the top being pushed outside and the background gets repeated to fill the whole page. You can tur...

Re: Flash vs HTML and the future....

@DylanReeve Until very recently I was relying on stock 2.0.7 for HTML graphics. To make this less painful due to the major differences to current chrome I have a custom build of 2.0.7 which has the chrome dev tool enabled. I also have a chromium sandbox as close to the same version as I could find, ...

Re: Will this server work??

That is a rather old server (2009ish I believe) so I am not hopeful that it will be able to do much, the cpu looks too weak to do much. It might be able to cope with a single channel of VT if you give it a gpu, but im not hopeful.

Re: CEF Upgrade

Punkley, do you mean you want to build libcef yourself? It took a 24 core vm on google cloud half an hour to compile plus time to setup and clone the large chromium source. If you are wanting a build of the pr, one for each platform is attached to it. And the producer info would be best as another P...

CEF Upgrade

I know that an updated CEF is a widely requested must have for 2.1, and that performance in some of the available builds was questionable, so I thought it would be useful if I ran some tests to get some concrete numbers, and to get a proper discussion going on the topic. I have found a few demo page...

Re: CasparCG in cloud (AWS) infrastructure and/or Docker

It looks like removing the requirement for a running xserver is not currently possible. I have managed to do so (https://github.com/Julusian/CasparCG-Server/tree/headless-linux) but had to remove the html producer. It appears that the version of chromium in use requires x11 to initialise itself. I h...

Re: CasparCG in cloud (AWS) infrastructure and/or Docker

Good spot on that typo, that is fixed. I've had a very quick look at the history and it appears that hellgore disabled the cpu mixer for linux, right around the time linux support was added. If I reenable it I get a bunch of errors in accelerator/cpu/util/xmm.h, which appear to be due to differences...

Re: CasparCG in cloud (AWS) infrastructure and/or Docker

I have just tested 2.1 Beta 2 on both windows and linux with the accelerator set to both cpu and gpu. I used the same config of one channel with no consumers, and played the same 2 video layers in all tests. On windows the log indicated what accelerator mode was being used with one of the following ...

Re: CasparCG in cloud (AWS) infrastructure and/or Docker

In my testing, a running x server is still needed for caspar to get an opengl context. Appears to be a limitation in the SFML graphics library. The log shows that it fails to access the display when initialing the screen module (even with no screen consumers enabled in my config). Perhaps if it was ...

Re: Updated frontend for 2.0.7

@Da_Elf Yes the old versions do work, I have been using those until I made this version. There are some new xml config options added in 2.0.7 which were never added to the frontend. This portion of the diff shows more precisely what config options have been added to the ui. https://github.com/Julusi...

Updated frontend for 2.0.7

I have forked and updated the deprecated server frontend to support all the xml configuration present in 2.0.7 The source is available at: https://github.com/Julusian/CasparCG-Frontend A precompiled exe is available at: https://download.guild.tv/casparcg/CasparCG_Server_207.exe I hope to be able to ...
