Re: Problem invoking javascript

Thanks, balte. I got the commands for this little project going now. I always placed html in the templates folder and load using CG ADD There are some other things I want to mention: -the "alert" popup is kinda screwed. Top part of the window is non-refreshing and the "OK" button is just barely reac...

Re: Problem invoking javascript

Is it true that the "CALL" commands no longer work as previously with HTML templates on the new 2.1.0 versions (as of beta1)? CALL 1-1 PLAY does not do anything, but CG 1-1 PLAY 1 does the trick. Just as CALL 1-1 INVOKE "otherFunction('testing');" no longer works but CG 1-1 INVOKE 1 "otherFunction('...

Re: Decklink 4k pro

No, you would stack the two inputs in a single channel, using a MIXER effect to key away the transparency of the fill input. Then you would record that single channel with alpha enabled. Did not test this, but the two Decklink inputs should stay in sync and as long as they are, the recording will a...

Re: Decklink 4k pro

I think that the only way to do this is to use 2 separate channels, as Didi suggested, since no Decklink board supports key in. Maybe a Bluefish boards supports it, but I don't know the Bluefish boards well enough. AFAIK no Bluefish board has ever been supported by CasparCG for video input, and pro...

Re: Decklink 4k pro

Is there any other Decklink card that can be used with CasparCG for video and key input? AFAIK no. You would need to use two channels (to cards or a duo) and play fill and key on separate layers and let one be the key for the other using a mixer effect. Using two Decklink cards is a possible, and e...

Re: Decklink 4k pro

The project is to make a replacement for an Avid (formerly Pinnacle) Thunder machine. This machine is now discontinued, and since our company is now in severe austerity mode, more pricey solutions are ruled out. Not all functionality of a real Thunder machine would be needed, but one of the desired ...

Re: Decklink 4k pro

Another problem I have with this card is that the second video input does not work as a key-in. When I apply a fill-and-key input the fill is visible but the key is filled with white. I may need key-in in a future project. Does anyone know if this can be made to work? I tried various settings in con...

Re: Decklink 4k pro

I got my new Decklink 4K pro and got it to work well with video and key on 1 channel. This is the first time I use a Decklink card, I was using only Bluefish cards before. I wonder however if I can configurate both outputs as separate channels, to obtain 2 independent channels without key-out. This ...

Re: Key/Fill Signal

To play independent clips simultaneously (not using the _a convention), make sure to send both PLAY commands in the same command string, and use LOAD or LOADBG commands to open them in advance. There is a chance they nevertheless play async, due to different disc access delays. Use an SSD drive to m...

Changing the media path

Is there a way to change the media path "on the fly", I mean with a command. I dont find such a command in the AMCP wiki. Purpose is to be able to play clips directly off a server on our company LAN, with a servername and path chosen by the user, instead of having to copy them to a local media folde...

Re: Mac Mini and CasparCG

Hi Guys, any update on weather the mac mini worked for your purposes? Yes, I did the test, with mixed results. Everything runs fine, within limitations of this small computer, except that the ffmpeg producer renders the colors all wrong when compressed format is used. It's only ok when an uncompres...

Re: Mac Mini and CasparCG

Jonas, I don't intend to do complex HD graphics with those mini PC's, I use the big ones with GeForce GPU's for that. I intend to use them for background- and desk graphics, as in the showcase "Vem Vet Mest" show. I just wanted to know if CasparCG runs at all on those mini systems, since I understoo...

Re: Mac Mini and CasparCG

I read the discussion on the Shuttle mini PC and I like the concept, but im afraid it will come out too expensive for my purpose because a Shuttle comes without CPU, RAM, HDD or SSD, graphics and OS. That all adds up to over 1300€ and since we intend to buy a lot of them (15 or so) the cost per unit...

Mac Mini and CasparCG

Hello, We are considering buying a lot of MacMini's to run CasparCG for multiscreen applications. Now I need to know if the new models of Macmini are still suited for running CasparCG. Especially the built-in graphics adapter worries me. All models of Macmini now come with "Intel HD 4000" graphics. ...

Re: dubious error

Sorry, I forgot to mention it was the 2.0.4 beta 1
Jonas Hummelstrand wrote:CasparCG Server 2.0.3 and earlier do not support more than 2-channel audio. Without knowing what version of CasparCG Server, and without looking at the file you are playing, it's hard to analyze deeper.

dubious error

I get the following error in the CasparCG console, and I wonder what it means. [2013-10-15 14:56:45.812] [001E7A88] [error] [ffmpeg] [aac @ 0F5A2020] Not evaluating a further program_config_element as this construct is dubious at best. What does this mean? Do I need to worry about something? The off...

Re: Multichannel server

mcdikki wrote:Are you sure this is not mentioned in the Wiki?

I understood that very early when I discovered casparCG, so it's very likely I read it in the wiki or the forum.

Cheers

AFAIK the XML example in the channels section of the wiki shows only one channel.

Multichannel server

This is not a problem or a question, but something I found out (the manual does not mention this possibility!) and I want to share it with the community: To make different consumers act as separate channels (instead of simultaneous output on channel 1) you need to put each consumer in its own <chann...

Re: Scrubbing and current frame

I would recommend that you try to re-encode, also try using the "-tune fastdecode" flag. So something like this: ffmpeg -i myfile.mov -vcodec libx264 -tune fastdecode -crf 15 -acodec copy myfile_out.mov As Jonas suggested, I downed the handbrake tool and I was able to re-encode clips to a "scrubbab...

Re: Scrubbing and current frame

elanvrt what codec are you using? I think you will get best results with a intra frame only codec, such as Quicktime Animation or HuffYUV. My clips are using H264 MPEG-4 AVC codec. Im not a specialist on codecs, and im afraid that using non-mpeg codecs with I frames only will quickly run into disk ...

Re: Scrubbing and current frame

You have to start with an existing CasparCG Server 2.0.3 folder. Take all the files from the beta build's folder and copy+replace them into the 2.0.3 folder. I now did just that, same result: Nothing works. The console window ends with the line just before the fatal exception, then hangs. Fortunate...

Re: Scrubbing and current frame

If seeking works is very much dependent on the codec settings of the specific file. Im not an expert on i-frames and gop so my suggestion is to look at the files that does work and compare to those that dont. I'm even much less an expert on these codec matters. All clipfiles can be scrubbed in vlcp...

Re: Scrubbing and current frame

I'm just guessing here, but try the config file in the GitHub repository. New features have been added, so you can't use an old config file. I retried with the original config found in the same zipfile as the server itself, using only a screen consumer. Same result: Nothing works. The thing connect...

Re: Scrubbing and current frame

You might want to look at the latest beta builds at http://builds.casparcg.com/ since OSC will be included in CasparCG Server 2.0.4, and is much more suited for this kind of polling. If you are still having trouble, post a bug (link in my signature) and ask in the forum. I tried the latest build (2...
